What to measure when forklift costs rise

Calculate the full operating cost

Compare purchase or leasing, energy, maintenance, tyres, operator time and downtime over the same period. This guide helps you collect your own operating data; it does not forecast market prices.

Measure transport tasks

Record distance, task count, load type and waiting time for each route. Separate empty returns and repetitive transfers to identify automation candidates.

Compare the same task with AMR

Evaluate AMR or AGV against the same load, route and shift scenario. Include floor suitability, safety, charging, fleet software and service. Mobile robots cannot replace every forklift task.

Set pilot acceptance criteria

Agree load count, delivery time, interventions and safety criteria before testing. Avoid fixed saving or payback promises before a pilot is measured.
